Gaston is an urban designer and a registered architect. His architectural
background and interdisciplinary experience strengthen his comprehension
on the various components involved in the design process and helps him bring
fresh ideas into each project.
Gaston has been involved in several major urban design studies including the
Little Lake Urban Design Study; the Bethune Street Revitalization Project in
Peterborough; the Regent Park Revitalization, Urban Design, Masterplan and
Guidelines in Toronto; several Ryerson University feasibility studies; and two
feasibility studies for Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre. In the past, while at Taylor
Smyth Architects, Gaston worked as an architect and urban designer on several
projects including the Grange Park Sculpture Garden Feasibility Study. Prior to
that, he worked for Young + Wright Architects and Markson, Borooah Architects
where he was deeply involved as an urban designer and architect in the Regent
Park Revitalization Project.
Additionally, he actively teaches and participates on several studio and design
courses as a sessional lecturer or guest design cri c at the University of Toronto.
