In this case study, we were engaged at the Design Development stage and provided with a blank canvas: a residential complex. The original concept involved a very exclusive and sustainable design, using principles such as local material sourcing, green roofs, passive sun shade systems, etc. The residential complex was w meant as a vacation place, a secondary home, so it had to feel relaxing and infused with the ‘local colour’.

We work together with the design team,  and started finding opportunities in the architecture itself and inspiration in the local artists and artisanry. We decide on 2 complementary colour palettes, that would give a slightly different character to the interior and the exterior.

We use the window frames, the stair and mechanical equipment’s screens to create integrated pieces of art. In addition we extended the idea of the green roof into the walls to create, with the help of a local artist, a ‘chromo-vegetated’  wall installation
